On saving Project NOAH OPEN LETTER TO PRES. DIGONG

“save the project because

I believe that the costs that it

takes is far more lower

and lesser that its benefits”

Dear President Duterte,

This is a sincere little voice praying to be heard by the greatest ear of the land.

Please, by the mandate of the people bestowed upon you and your office, save DOST-Project NOAH.

As an experienced development worker, both in the local government and development sector, and has been exposed to various tasks especially in disaster risk reduction (DRR), I believe without fear of contradiction, that Project NOAH is one of the best, if not the best among the best projects of the DOST or even of the national government in the field of disaster mitigation, prevention and preparedness.

While I was still active in DRR, I was even thinking that the development path of the project was geared toward translating/replicating the concepts and strategies to LGUs. However, upon hearing that it will be closed sooner than later, I said to myself “Uh-oh”.

I am not in the privy of the dynamics and nitty-gritty behind the decision but please, if you may, save the project because I believe that the costs that it takes is far more lower and lesser that its benefits. And please, although this is unsolicited, talk to Dr. Mahar Mahar Lagmay and take suggestions and recommendations from him on how to effectively and efficiently save the project or proposed for equally important equivalent..

With high hope of your kind consideration, this is sincerely communicated.

Thank you and praying that this little voice will be heard by the greatest ear.

Sincerely,

Pepot Garcia, A Little Voice from Compostela Valley
